One of the most common things we hear from patients who have been through the process is: “I wish I had known how easy it was.” Getting dental work done in Colombia as an international patient is genuinely straightforward — once you understand the steps. This page walks you through exactly how it works, from your first message to your finished smile.
Everything starts with a WhatsApp message. No forms, no waiting rooms, no commitments. Just send us a message at +57 322 414 1781 telling us what you are looking to have done. If you have existing dental records — X-rays, panoramic X-rays (OPG), or photos of your teeth — attach them to your message. If you do not have records yet, a clear photo of your smile (front view and side view in good lighting) is a useful starting point for cosmetic cases.
Our team typically responds within a few hours during business hours (Colombia time: GMT-5).
Based on your photos, X-rays, or records, our dental specialist prepares a treatment proposal. This is a written document that includes: the recommended treatments, the sequence, the estimated timeline, the cost per procedure, and the total estimated cost. This consultation is completely free and carries no obligation.
For complex cases (full mouth restoration, multiple implants), we may ask for a 3D CBCT scan file if you have one, or advise you on where to get one affordably before traveling. For straightforward cosmetic cases (veneers, whitening), good photos are often sufficient for an initial proposal.
This is your chance to ask everything. How many appointments will I need? Can I arrive on a Monday and be done by the following Friday? What happens if I need more work than expected? What if I want to change the shade of white? We are transparent about everything — costs, timing, and realistic expectations. Nothing is confirmed until you are comfortable with the plan.
Once you decide to proceed, we coordinate your appointment schedule around your travel dates. Book your flights based on the timeline we give you. For cosmetic treatments (veneers, whitening, smile design), plan for 7-10 days. For implant cases, plan for 7-14 days on the first trip. For full mouth restoration, two separate trips are typically needed.
We will confirm your specific appointment dates and times before you book your flights. You will know exactly what happens on each day of your trip.
Your first appointment is a comprehensive clinical examination — photos, measurements, digital scans or impressions, and confirmation of the treatment plan. For smile design and veneer cases, this session often includes the digital design preview and possibly a mock-up. For implant cases, a CBCT scan is taken at the clinic to confirm placement planning.
Treatment then proceeds across your remaining appointments as scheduled. We handle everything: specialist referrals if needed, lab coordination, and all communication between team members.
By your final appointment, your treatment is complete. You will receive detailed written aftercare instructions and emergency contact information. For implant cases, we provide full documentation of the implant systems placed for your records and for your dentist at home. We recommend a follow-up check with your local dentist 4-6 weeks after returning.
We remain available on WhatsApp after you return home. If you have questions, concerns, or anything does not feel right, message us. We can review photos, provide guidance, and in the rare case of an issue, coordinate the appropriate response — whether that is guidance for your local dentist or, if necessary, arranging a follow-up visit to Colombia.
Here are general guidelines: Teeth whitening only: 1-2 days. Composite veneers: 1-2 days. Porcelain veneers (6-10 teeth): 7-10 days. Full smile design: 7-10 days. Single dental implant (post only, crown on second trip): 4-5 days. Full arch All-on-4 (provisional on first trip): 10-14 days. Full mouth restoration: 10-14 days per trip, typically two trips needed.
We give you a specific timeline for your case during the consultation phase.
Do I need to send X-rays before traveling?
For implant and complex cases, yes — CBCT or panoramic X-rays are needed for proper planning. For cosmetic cases, good photos are often sufficient to start. We will tell you exactly what we need.
What if my case is more complex than expected on arrival?
We plan thoroughly to avoid surprises. If additional work is identified, we discuss it with you immediately, explain the options, and never proceed with anything not agreed in advance.
Is there an emergency contact if something goes wrong after I return home?
Yes. You will have our WhatsApp number and we are available for follow-up questions and guidance after your return. We also provide full documentation for your local dentist.
Can family members or friends come along?
Of course. Colombia is an excellent destination for travel companions — plenty to see and do while you are in your appointments. See our Travel Guide for recommendations on things to do.
How do I pay?
We accept major payment methods. Payment details are discussed and confirmed during your consultation and before treatment begins.
